Lucy Tomforde

Lucille (Lucy) Tomforde is a multidisciplinary artist based in London, who focuses on photography, social media, illustration, graphic design, and animation. Her work explores playful whimsy with intentional narratives to tell connective stories about growth, civics, gathering and life. 

Tomforde grew up in Houston, Texas before she received an undergraduate degree in New Media and Digital Design from Fordham University. With a desire to expand her craft, she went on to achieve a graduate degree in Design from the University of Texas. Her professional work spans from traditional corporate design to brand-specific content design. Additionally Tomforde’s company TOMFOOLERY, established in 2019, takes on freelance branding, illustrative, animation and graphic design projects. 

Her thesis work at the University of Texas examines the intentions behind state-wide political and civic systems by employing animation and humor. The animation, “Bop or Flop,” relates abstract topics to relevant social issues to humanize the experience and better help young Texans understand political systems.
